Girl Bike Love is excited to announce a creative writing contest with the 6th Annual Midwest Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic!


The winner will receive:
One (1) free entry to the 2011 Midwest Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic One (1) free 2011 event t-shirt
Two free nights (Fri/Sat) lodging for the weekend of the event
Two hour private coaching lesson on Saturday, June 11 with pro rider and IMIC Level III Coach Tammy Donahugh
And a huge prize package of goodies from our event sponsors!

Official Rules
Entry Period:  The entry period for this contest begins on Monday, April 11, 2011 and ends on Sunday, April 30, 2011.
Eligibility: The contest is open to individuals eighteen (18) years of age or older as of the date of their entry.
How to Enter:
a. “LIKE” Midwest Women’s Mountain Biking and Girl Bike Love on Facebook.

b. Submit your 500-1000 word article along with one photo (no larger than 600 dpi) to contest@sub-9.com with the subject “GBL Entry”.

c. Please include your full name, city and state along with a contact phone number and email address with your entry.

d. Entries should be based on one of the following topics:

Roll in the dirt: What inspires you to get dirty?
Spreading the dirt: How have you inspired others?
Day in the dirt: Your fondest memory on the trail.

e. All article submissions will be posted on the Girl Bike Love website and Facebook page.  Get your friends and family to “LIKE”  and comment on your article.  The top three entries, based on criteria listed below, will be selected to compete in an online poll.  The entry to receive the most votes in the poll will be our winner!

f. The winner will be required to submit a final article following the Midwest Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic no later than Friday, June 17, 2011.  This entry should be no less than 600 words and should focus on your experience at the event.

Winner Selection and Notification: Entries will be reviewed and selected based on the following judging criteria:

Creativity and originality (50%)
Spirit of the event (25%)
Number of “LIKES” and votes for your article (25%)

Judging will be conducted by event organizers and volunteers. The top three entrants selected for the online poll will be notified via email no later than Monday, May 2, 2011.  Final winner will be notified via email no later than Monday, May 16, 2011.  Any contest winner notification returned as undeliverable for any reason will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate at the discretion of event organizers.  If an alternate determination is necessary for any reason, the entry with the next highest total score shall be declared the contest winner.

Prize Description: The winning entrant will receive:

One (1) free entry to the 2011 Midwest Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic.  If winner has already purchased an entry to the 2011 event, that amount will be refunded to them.

One (1) free 2011 event t-shirt.

Two free nights (Fri/Sat) stay at official event lodging.  On-site and off-site options available.  Winner will work event organizers for lodging needs.  Transportation to and from event is not included.

Two hour private lesson with pro rider and IMIC Level III Coach Tammy Donahugh on Saturday, June 11.

Consent and License: By submitting an entry, you are implying that you have read the Official Rules and that you agree to them, that the writing is of your own creation, and that you grant Sub-9 Productions and Girl Bike Love exclusive rights to publish your work in any and all media without further compensation or attribution.  Consent is also given by any entrant for Sub-9 Productions and Girl Bike Love to use entrant’s full name, city and state of residence.  Contest winner’s name, city and state will be posted on event website.

Disclaimer: Entries that are lost, late, garbled, or incompletely received for any reason, will not be eligible.  Sub-9 Productions reserves the right to not award any or all prizes if, in its sole discretion, it determines that a sufficient number of eligible and qualified entries has not been received.
