IMBA and long standing corporate member FOX Racing Shox, are pleased to announce the 2011 IMBA/FOX Racing Shox Pump Track Grants to support projects initiated by IMBA clubs and chapters.

Four grants of $1000 will be awarded to IMBA-affiliated clubs that meet the project criteria.

The application deadline is June 15.

“New grants like this are great to stimulate and fuel new bike parks. Pump tracks are relatively inexpensive improvements that don’t require a lot of public land. They’re a great community resource to help get more kids and families outside riding bikes,” said IMBA Development Director, Rich Cook.

“We are really impressed with the foresight and vision that IMBA has demonstrated with this pump track grant so it was a natural decision to partner with them,” said FOX Racing Shox Marketing Manager Jim Noonan. “The pump tracks that we envision are not intimidating to the rider, they are small in size with rounded rolling lips and no gaps or double jumps. The user-friendly nature of these tracks allows a more diverse cross section of riders to use and enjoy these facilities. With regular practice a rider will dramatically improve his or her skills,” he said.

IMBA, the largest mountain bike advocacy organization in the world, has over 750 affiliated chapters and clubs in all 50 states, and in seven countries. Support from FOX Racing Shox, and 170 other corporate members has helped IMBA foster relationships with government land managers and local communities to create, enhance and preserve great trail experiences for mountain biking and a multitude of trail users.
