Hosted by the League of American Bicyclists and sponsored by Bikes Belong, the National Bike Summit is a vital event for bicycling across the country. Every year the Summit has grown in participation and effectiveness, which is why Bikes Belong continues to support this important gathering. The 2012 Summit will be held March 20-22 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.

Through past National Bike Summits, we have established the Senate Bike Caucus and encouraged more than 200 House members to join the Congressional Bike Caucus. We have visited more than 350 House offices and more than 90 Senate offices annually, and introduced laws such as the Bicycle Commuter Act.

This Summit, we need your voice more than ever. The current Transportation Bill is up for vote a week after the Summit. It is assumed that the attacks on bicycling and pedestrian funding will be in full tilt. Bicyclists across the country need you to fight for them on Capitol Hill.

Register before November 11 with the code SUMMIT12 and receive an additional $50 off your already discounted early bird registration. Why $50? We will have a lot of work to do at this year’s Summit. We are in danger of losing 50 years of hard work and could go back to the days when important biking and walking projects received no funding from the federal government. We all need to be on Capitol Hill to ensure bicycling is included in the Transportation Bill. Register for the National Bike Summit, and help save bicycling.
