With the help of a generous grant from Shimano, IMBA has released the first edition of a youth-oriented print publication. Written for middle-school through high-school aged readers — as well as their mountain bike coaches and adult ride leaders — IMBA Trail News Youth Edition is available for free online.
You can also order 15 printed copies at IMBA’s store for just $5, plus the cost of shipping.
The full-color, glossy magazine provides 12 pages loaded with great photos, news stories and features about mountain biking for young riders. Readers will find tips on organizing successful rides, trail building success stories and how to connect with IMBA’s chapters/clubs.
Free copies will also be distributed to IMBA’s many partners that offer youth-oriented programs. They include:
- National Interscholastic Cycling Association
- The North Face Planet Explore and Explore Fund
- Outdoor Alliance for Kids
- Outdoor Nation
- Trips for Kids
Another way to get your hands on free copies is to register a local event with IMBA’s annual Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day celebration. Registration will open in upcoming weeks for rides events, to be held on October 6, 2012. Stay tuned for more information about this year’s events, including an online ride locator map.
