Girl Gear :: Leg Lube

So, you are headed out for a big week of riding, there is camping involved and the potential for less showers than days of travel. But you still want to keep your freshly shaved legs, not just to look good but to prevent chaffing, and the age old “roadie” reasoning of injury + hair = yuck.

What is a gal (or guy) to do?

We’ve all tried any number of combinations including going sans slick leg and shaving with ice cold creek water but the folks at Leg Lube are here to offer us a different option. Created for athletes, by athletes, Leg Lube offers an In or Out of the shower shave.

Using Leg Lube for the first time is a different experience. A little bit goes a long way and it is very easy to use. Leg Lube comes with a slight tingling, refreshing sensation from eucalyptus and other essential oils. It is paraban free and contains aloe for soothing. And, we will agree, its “ultra-lubricating” action works well In and Out of the shower. ┬áThis is said to “reduce drag, nicks, in-grown hairs, razor burn and dry skin”. I used the gel exclusively until it ran out and I will say that it provided a very smooth shave and a nice post shave moisturized glow. I also got that somewhat pampered feeling that comes with a really great herbally scent. ┬áNeedless to say I was pretty sad to see that first bottle come to an end.

The 3.4oz bottle goes a long way, so the $8.95 retail price isn’t going to break the bank. Leg Lube is, without a doubt, an excellent travel companion and fits just under regulation size for airline carry-on gels.

I’ve seen Leg Lube pop up in more than a few bike shops and I’m always happy to support another Colorado company. Look for it at your local shop!
