Built To Fit :: Interview With Master Bike Fitter Chris Soden

.
When we say “Built to Fit” we literally mean, built to fit. For our GBL CX bike we consulted with Master Bike Fitter Chris Soden of Boulder, Colorado. Chris is the owner of Pro Peloton Cyclery, a boutique shop that specializes in custom bikes and top notch bike fit. He expertly led me through the bike fit process for our Built to Fit project with Mosaic Cycles. It is no surprise that riders come from all over the country to [...]

Geometry of a 29er :: Is It For You?

.
In the cycling world, innovations that change the way we think about and ride bikes don’t come along often.  While 29″ wheeled mountain bikes are obviously here to stay, not everyone has come around to the idea.  As a matter of fact, there are still staunch opposers of big wheels. Taking a 29er on a test ride is the best way to see the difference for yourself.  But for some, especially small riders, getting a demo opportunity can be tough.  [...]

Yamaguchi Frame Building Fantasy Camp

Frame Building Fantasy Camp 101 I was in the market for a bicycle.  I had looked in all the shops and gone on several test rides, but even the high-end frames felt lifeless to me. But not just any piece of cold steel between my legs would do. I wanted something [...]

Abruptly interrupting my beautiful dream, he said “Oh, that kind” with a bit of sarcasm.  The honest truth is that I didn’t know and he knew it.  [...]

Tested: Fizik Vesta Women’s Saddle

.
You know it’s a good saddle if you forget that it’s there.  Which is exactly what I did.  It’s a good thing too since I went against everything I had ever learned and installed the Vesta for the first time just before a 12 hour mtb race.  It was, ironically, the best pre-race decision I have ever made.  While the saddle did not prevent me from face planting on the first lap, it did keep my bum happy for the [...]
