Mical’s Weekend at Sea Otter

.
It’s been a number of years since I’ve done the Sea Otter Classic, and this was one of the most enjoyable. It was a great weekend with the Stan’s NoTubes crew and the Women’s Elite Team….and getting to finally ride my new Scalpel 29er!!! A lot of tweaking the new XTR, setting up positions and testing out the Kenda Tires, then it was time to race. It was a busy hot weekend, with Shannon, Kenny, Kaila, Amanda, Nina, mechanic Chris, [...]

Amanda’s Long Walk

.
This past weekend I made the trip to Boise for my first XC race of the year. Though I’ve been nursing busted ribs for the past 5 weeks and my training has been limited, I felt ready to give it a go at the Wild Rockies Series opener, the Barking Spider. It’s a pretty mellow course- mostly sandy double track with some fast, smooth singletrack with a few long climbs mixed in. It requires far more pedaling than handling, so [...]

On some high definite high notes. My A race for the year was the [...]

24 Hours in the Old Pueblo Race Report, by NoTubes Co-ed Team Captain Phil Simpson

.
Tucson 2013 I had the honor of racing this past weekend with great teammates, for a fantastic sponsor, at one of the best organized but laid back events in the country. The 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo was fast and fun twistiness for everyone. Our five-person coed team was Shannon Gibson, Kenny Wehn, David Vaughn, Dave Million, and me, Phil Simpson. Dave and I are continually amazed that Shannon has stuck with us for nine years, and Kenny has [...]
