Sue’s HooHa 2013 Report

.
From Sue’s blog HooHa 2013 The Massanutten HooHa celebrated its 25th anniversary this past weekend. It’s incredible to think that for every year since 1989 this race has happened. I wonder how many people, if any, have been to all 25? I’ve been to less than ten, I think. I don’t think its been the same course twice ever. And the trails just keep getting better and better. I pulled a double win this weekend! I won the inaugural enduro [...]

Transylvania, Take II

.
I had Trans-Sylvania in my sights since last year. I wasn’t happy with how it went last year and I wanted another shot. When I got hit by a car last fall, it didn’t seem likely. But when the doctor’s orders were no racing until practically the exact day that TSE started, it seemed doable. So I had it circled on my calendar for a long time. The Stan’s No Tubes Elite Women’s Team was racing in full stride in May. By this time, all the ladies have their fitness and equipment dialed in. Our team is so happy and thankful to be sponsored by the best equipment in the biking business. Some of the biggest news is the welcoming of our newest [...]

Perfect Pemberton Trails – Nimby 50

.
Without a doubt, we could not have asked for better conditions for the Nimby 50 in Pemberton this past weekend, it was absolutely perfect.  As quite often the hottest place in Canada, last year the race was an absolute scorcher.  This year with rain all week and threatening rain for race day, I was a little worried that it would be a clayey muddy mess.  But race day was dry, trails were tacky, and the weather was a little chilly [...]

Off to the Races!

.
Finally, after 11 months, the time had come to race my bike! I was beyond nervous and excited but mostly it was just great to be back in the swing of things; pre-riding with Nina, catching up with all the bike-racer friends, staying at Shannon’s, giving Kenny grief and hanging with Leon The 12 Hours of Mesa Verde was a great first race because the vibe is mellow and fun and with the lap format race style, I didn’t have to [...]
