Proform Studio Bike Pro

studio bike pro woman

The Proform studio bike has been on the market for a while and is highly rated by many spinning enthusiasts. It is an interactive spinning bike that looks fantastic. It has a sporty edge, and the bike would look amazing either in a home gym or a high-end fitness studio. It has sharp, clean lines, and the oversized tubing gives it a modern look.

The bike‘s insides are also very good, and like all high-end spinning bikes, you have a magnetic resistance system with a belt drive that gives you 22 resistance levels. It can suit riders from 5ft 4” all the way to 6ft “4 and has a max user weight of 250lbs. The bike is adjustable two ways on the handlebars and four ways on the saddle, making it good for all the family.

You get a 10” screen, and it comes with the iFit application, which typically you pay $39 a month for, but they give you free three years when you buy the bike. It offers live and on demand classes, where the instructor can control the resistance for you to give you the perfect workout. You also have amazing scenic rides with google maps integration and many other classes to choose from.

What are the differences between the Studio Pro and the Pro 22?

You can see these bikes are very similar but do differ greatly in price. So what are the differences between the two? It can be challenging to understand, so to make it easy for you, we’re going to break it down to compare differences and then tell you which is best for you.

Design

Although these bikes look very similar in design, they have a few slight differences separating them. The Proform Studio Bike Pro has gloss handlebars, a clear white belt drive casing, and a bold detailed logo.

The Pro 22 has a much more stealthy finish with oversized matt black handlebars, a clear black belt drive casing, and a more minimal logo. The Pro 22 does look like a more refined model, and we do like to believe with this design, less is more.

Size and Fit

Both Proform bikes are of a standard size bike similar to many on the market. The Pro 22, because of the large screen, does come out slightly larger than the Studio Bike Pro. They both fit riders from 5ft 4” to 6ft 4” and are very adjustable.

You can shift the seat up, down, back, and forward. On the handlebars, you can just go up and down. It’s enough movement to get a good fit, and the bike‘s design works well for most riders. The tubes on the Pro 22 are angled back further, and we think this is a slight redesign to compensate for the larger screen.

Resistance

Then we have the insides of the bike, and many people overlook these. Proform makes an excellent bike in which, no matter how much pedal power you have, the bike will be able to harness it. They both have a magnetic belt drive system and offer frictionless, super quiet resistance.

The only difference in resistance is that the Proform Studio Bike Pro has 22 levels, and the Pro 22 has 24 levels of resistance. The extra two levels are on the higher end, so if you’re a very strong rider, you might want to consider the Pro 22.

Screen

Then we have the screens, which is the biggest difference between these bikes. The Proform Studio Bike has a small 10” screen which works well and is enough for a decent workout. Then you have the Pro 22, which has a huge 22” high definition screen. The Pro 22 gives a much better experience and makes all the difference on scenic rides.

iFit

iFit is the application that both these bikes are locked to, and it’s incredible. The instructors are fantastic, the class quality is amazing, and the scenic rides are brilliant, especially with the google maps integration, which can put you anywhere in the world.

When you buy the Proform Studio Bike, you get an incredible full three years membership which comes to a total value of over $1400, which is more than the bike. The Pro 22 comes with a year of free iFit membership, valued at over $470. After the free year, you have to pay $39 a month, which over time, can cost more.

Which is for me?

Both bikes are excellent value for money, and we highly recommend them. They will be great for hitting your fitness goals, last for a long time, and give you a lot of good use.

If you’re on a tighter budget and are happy with a 10” screen, the Proform Studio Bike is amazing value for money, and the free three year iFit trail makes it a superb option for any rider.

Suppose you are looking for the best experience possible and have a larger budget than the Pro 22 might be for you. It will cost you more upfront and in the long run, but the bike offers a larger screen, a couple more levels of resistance, and a sleeker look.
