HOW TO BUILD A DIY PELOTON BIKE FOR LESS THAN $580

Peloton has set the standard for interactive indoor cycling for many years, but they aren’t cheap. The $2500 price tag for the bike and the $50 monthly subscription aren’t in everyone’s budget.

When it comes to high-end interactive spinning bikes, generally, people think you have to spend a lot when you don’t.

Here at Girl Bike Love, we are often asked if making your own DIY Peloton is possible. Well, you can go for sure, and you will be happy to know it is a lot cheaper, but it does offer a slightly different experience.

Get A Spin Bike Set Up

You might need to build it if you have ordered one, or if already built, find yourself a place where you can train safely and put it there. Once in the correct position, you will want to adjust the feet correctly.

01.

Add The Sensors

Now you are going to need to add the sensors, starting with the cadence sensor. This will need to be attached to the crank arm, and putting it on the rear is the best place.

02.

Add The Tablet

Now it’s time to add the tablet. Many spin bikes will come with a tablet holder as standard, but there are many options if you require a tablet holder.

03.

Connect The Sensors

To connect the sensors, you first need to load up the Peloton application. When you start, it will give you the option to connect sensors.

04.

Test

Finally, the last thing you need to do is pick a workout and get testing. We recommend a light workout where you can work at high and low cadences and lots of sitting and standing.
