Things I liked:

  • Magnetic resistance is smooth and quiet
  • Awesome device holder for phone or tablet
  • Dual-purpose pedals
  • Ultra heavy flywheel for a robust and solid workout
  • Fully adjustable seat and handlebars

Things To Consider:

  • The fact the bike doesn’t connect to the SunnyFit app and has no display to track your ride data; that being said, you can purchase the Sunny Cadence Sensor to help track speed and RPM
  • For the serious rider, the lack of dual-purpose pedals is a real downside

The Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike is designed and developed by one of the best up-and-coming home gym fitness companies in the industry, Sunny Health and Fitness

The brand initially rose to popularity after garnering vast numbers of positive reviews on Amazon. As we all know, positive reviews are one of the best ways to learn more about an exercise bike before spending your hard-earned cash. Sunny Health and Fitness are known for manufacturing high-quality yet cost-effective exercise bikes that are durable and high-tech.

The Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike is not only affordable especially compared to other brands like Schwinn and Peloton, which can cost many thousands of dollars. The SF-B1805 is priced at a reasonable $599,00 and definitely won’t break the bank, yet still, it provides quality and durability.

With the latest in magnetic resistance, the Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike provides the user with a smooth and quiet workout experience. The Bike comes equipped with a device holder, which, let’s be honest, always comes in handy, especially on those long rides; you can pop your tablet into the holder and watch some Youtube or Netflix.

Any bike that you purchase needs to be ergonomically designed for two main reasons; One, if you’re new to riding indoors, you’ll want to have a bike that is comfortable, and two, If you are an experienced rider and want to perform longers rides, then comfort is a must. There’s nothing worse than spending an hour on a bike with an uncomfortable riding position, hard seat, and poorly designed handlebars.

The Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike is extremely comfortable, and although the bike is at the lower end of the price range, the quality is second to none. The handlebars are 4-way adjustable, and the seat moves back and forward and up and down to provide users of anybody super the perfect riding position.

Many exercise bikes, particularly those from the more prominent well, known brands make wild claims about having the latest in technology and some new “miracle” app that will completely transform you from a stay at home mom into a world-class athlete; we all know, however, that these claims are simply outlandish.

The reason I love the Sunny Health and Fitness company is that they are honest with the bikes they have and don’t try to “con” their customers into thinking their bikes are miracle workers. The brand has several different exercise bikes which are targeted to many different customers. Sunny has expensive bikes, affordable bikes, and cheaper bikes.

But one thing Sunny Health and Fitness always has is honesty, high quality, and superior warranties. The SF-B1805Smart sits right in the middle of the range of exercise bikes; it’s not overly pricey and won’t break the bank for most people.

The SF-B1805Smart offers users a connection to the SunnyFit app and, my personal favorite, the dual-purpose pedals, which allow users to either ride in sneakers or “clip-in” with their dedicated cycling shoes. The flywheel is 44lbs, meaning it’s sturdy and robust and has excellent balance, especially when pushing down hard on the pedals.

Things I liked:

  • Access to the SmartFitness app by Sunny Health and Fitness
  • Dual-purpose pedals
  • Ultra heavy flywheel for a robust and solid workout
  • Fully adjustable seat and handlebars
  • Erofonimc device holder for a tablet or phone
  • Emergency brake for safety
  • Easily adjustable twist-knob

Things To Consider:

  • Lacks some of the latest features when compared to Schwinn or Peloton
  • Price may be a concern for some potential customers

SF-B1805 & SF-B1805Smart Detailed Comparison

Flywheel

Both The Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and SF-B1805 Smart have a heavy and well-built flywheel which allows users to really get a good workout in without having to worry about the bike losing balance.

The flywheel weighs in at 44lbs or 20kgs and offers users a quiet and smooth riding experience. Believe me, the quietness of these bikes will keep your family happy as you work out in the other room.

Seat

The Seat is arguably one of the most important components of any bike and if you plan on doing longer rides, you’ll that the seats on The Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and SF-B1805Smart are extremely comfortable. I’m not just saying that; as a former cyclist, I can tell you that the adjustable seat is second to none.

Being able to move the seat forward, back up, and down allows users of different shapes and sizes to find the perfect riding position for their workouts.

Handlebars

Ok so I know I just the seat is the most important component and it is but the second most important component is the handlebars. The handlebars on both the Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and SF-B1805Smart are what we call “4-way” adjustable, and the bars themselves are wrapped in highly comfortable and durable foam padding.

Anyone who has worked out for hours on end understands the importance of having adjustable handlebars to help stay comfortable and change the position up when you’re hands start to get tired.

Connectivity

Here is where the major difference is between the Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and SF-B1805Smart. The SunnyFit app is only available on the Smart models and not the SF-B1805. With that being said, you can purchase the Sunny Cadence Sensor, which would allow you to track your ride data and even connect to the SunnyFit App.

The SunnyFit app allows you to track all of your important rides data and metrics in “live-time,” such as calories burned, distance, time, and even heart rate and speed.

Keep in mind you will need to purchase a heart rate monitor separately, but I highly recommend it, especially for users who are serious about maximizing their health and performance.

Comparison with Other Alternatives

SF-B1805 vs. Sunny SF-B1851

The SF-B1851 Synergy Pro is the cream of the crop and is so quiet you can work out with your baby sleeping right next to you; I have never ridden a stationary exercise bike so quiet. The main difference between the SF-B1805 is the digital console and access to the SunnyFit app; oh, and the price is slightly higher at $649,00.

SF-B1805 vs. Sunny SF-B1709

The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1709 Belt Drive Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike is quite possibly one of the best bikes in the Sunny Health and Fitness range. It’s what I love about the Sunny bike company, they have so many bikes in their range, and every one of them targets a specific user group. The primary differences between the SF-B1709 Belt Drive Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and the SF=B1805 are the Magnetic Rear Resistance System and the hand pulse sensors to track heart rate. Price at $609,00.

SF-B1805 vs. Sunny SF-B1714

The Sunny Health and Fitness SF- B1714 Evolution Pro Magnetic Belt Drive Indoor Cycling Bike is very similar to the flagship model, the Sunny SF-B1805, with the main difference being the adjustable water bottle holder, which despite what you might think is actually a very convenient and well-thought-out features. Price $599,98.

SF-B1805 vs. Sunny SF-B1002

The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1002 Belt Drive Indoor Cycling Bike is the cost-effective model manufactured by Sunny Health and Fitness. But cheap doesn’t mean it’s bad, as a matter of fact, the SF-B1002 is the perfect option for those users who are just starting out or have a limited budget to work with. The bike’s flywheel is slightly heavier than the SF-B1805 at 49 lbs compared to 44lbs. Prices at $399,98.

SF-B1805 vs. Joroto X2

The Joroto Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike with Belt Drive has a 300 lbs user weight capacity and the latest in magnetic resistance. When compared to the Sunny SF-B1805 the main feature difference is the small LCD screen which the Sunny does not have; but in all seriousness, the Joroto LCD screen is so small and basic ts really not a feature worth worrying about in this instance, the Sunny SF=B1805 is the clear winner. The price of the Joroto Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike with Belt Drive is $429,00.

Wrap-Up

The Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and the Sunny B1805Smart are almost identical, but here’s the thing, in my expert opinion, the B1805Smart is the clear winner of this fearsome bike duel.

Yes, both bikes are built by the same company, and yes, the frames, flywheel, and magnetic resistance are the same, but for me, two main features set the bikes apart. Firstly, the B1805Smart connects to the Sunny Fit app, and secondly, the dual-purpose pedals make this bike much better value for the money. But remember, on the SF-B1805, you can buy the Sunny Cadence Sensor, which I highly recommend.

Although the Smart is more expensive, there’s only a $100 difference and to be honest, it’s $100 well spent. Why pay for the same bike yet have no access to the app or the ability to use dual-purpose pedals? It doesn’t make sense.

So in a wrap, the B1805Smart is the clear winner, and although the Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike is a well-built exercise, it lacks the two most important features.
