Many exercise bikes, particularly those from the more prominent well, known brands make wild claims about having the latest in technology and some new “miracle” app that will completely transform you from a stay at home mom into a world-class athlete; we all know, however, that these claims are simply outlandish.

The reason I love the Sunny Health and Fitness company is that they are honest with the bikes they have and don’t try to “con” their customers into thinking their bikes are miracle workers. The brand has several different exercise bikes which are targeted to many different customers. Sunny has expensive bikes, affordable bikes, and cheaper bikes.

But one thing Sunny Health and Fitness always has is honesty, high quality, and superior warranties. The SF-B1805Smart sits right in the middle of the range of exercise bikes; it’s not overly pricey and won’t break the bank for most people. 

The SF-B1805Smart offers users a connection to the SunnyFit app and, my personal favorite, the dual-purpose pedals, which allow users to either ride in sneakers or “clip-in” with their dedicated cycling shoes. The flywheel is 44lbs, meaning it’s sturdy and robust and has excellent balance, especially when pushing down hard on the pedals.

Seat 

The Seat is arguably one of the most important components of any bike and if you plan on doing longer rides, you’ll that the seats on The Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and SF-B1805Smart are extremely comfortable. I’m not just saying that; as a former cyclist, I can tell you that the adjustable seat is second to none. 

Being able to move the seat forward, back up, and down allows users of different shapes and sizes to find the perfect riding position for their workouts. 

Handlebars

Ok so I know I just the seat is the most important component and it is but the second most important component is the handlebars. The handlebars on both the Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and SF-B1805Smart are what we call “4-way” adjustable, and the bars themselves are wrapped in highly comfortable and durable foam padding. 

Anyone who has worked out for hours on end understands the importance of having adjustable handlebars to help stay comfortable and change the position up when you’re hands start to get tired. 

Connectivity

Here is where the major difference is between the Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and SF-B1805Smart. The SunnyFit app is only available on the Smart models and not the SF-B1805. With that being said, you can purchase the Sunny Cadence Sensor, which would allow you to track your ride data and even connect to the SunnyFit App.

Wrap-Up

The Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike and the Sunny B1805Smart are almost identical, but here’s the thing, in my expert opinion, the B1805Smart is the clear winner of this fearsome bike duel.

Yes, both bikes are built by the same company, and yes, the frames, flywheel, and magnetic resistance are the same, but for me, two main features set the bikes apart. Firstly, the B1805Smart connects to the Sunny Fit app, and secondly, the dual-purpose pedals make this bike much better value for the money. But remember, on the SF-B1805, you can buy the Sunny Cadence Sensor, which I highly recommend.

Although the Smart is more expensive, there’s only a $100 difference and to be honest, it’s $100 well spent. Why pay for the same bike yet have no access to the app or the ability to use dual-purpose pedals? It doesn’t make sense.

So in a wrap, the B1805Smart is the clear winner, and although the Sunny SF-B1805 Magnetic Indoor Cycling Bike is a well-built exercise, it lacks the two most important features.
