Are Yosuda Indoor Cycles Worth it?

Are you a cycling fan? I sure am, and not only that, I’m a professional coach with over 19 years of working with world-class athletes. There are three things in life I hold close to my heart; Family, God, and cycling.

So you won’t be surprised to hear I was super excited when I heard we had the opportunity to review the latest indoor cycling bike from Yosuda. This brand is relatively new to the indoor cycling scene but has quickly garnered a bit of a cult following on sites such as Amazon.

The Yosuda indoor cycling bikes are affordable and well built, with the company being based in Los Angeles. The flywheel is robust and heavy, which is a good thing for indoor cycling bikes. All factors considered, it looks to be an excellent alternative to some of the other more expensive cycling brands like Peloton and Schwinn.

Keep reading on to find out just what I thought about these exciting new bikes.

A little info about the Yosuda Brand

Eric Zeng is a former lawyer turned fitness equipment designer who founded Yosuda after his wife became very ill when she was younger.

Originally Eric just wanted to create a bike for his wife to ride indoors to help improve her health and well-being, but after studying and researching the market, he saw the opportunity to design and manufacture an affordable yet high-quality bike for the masses. After a short while, Eric’s wife began to show signs of much better health which also helped to push Eric to mass-produce the bikes.

The company was established in 2020 and uses the name “you’re the sun dame.” Eric emphasizes, however, that although the name “dame” refers to women, the company targets all users and encourages them to gain health and well-being through indoor cycling.

Eric’s designs are simple, classic, and stylish. Since starting only two years, ago, Yosuda bikes have now expanded into countries such as Japan and Europe.

Specs

  • Flywheel: 40lbs
  • Adjustable seat: 4 Way – Up/ down & Front/ back inseam height:
  • Adjustable handlebars: Two-way up and down
  • Resistance: Magnetic Resistance system
  • Machine weight: 86lbs
  • Max user weight: 350lbs

The Yosuda Pro Magnetic Exercise Bike is the top-of-the-range model from the brand and comes with many features that the other bikes in the range do not.

Firstly the Pro model is equipped with the latest magnetic resistance technology that provides the user with a silent and smooth-riding experience. The magnetic resistance system also means there are no moving parts, so not only is it “stealthy” quiet, but it’s also durable, meaning there’s no need to replace components.

The Pro model also has 4-way adjustable seating and handlebars, which make the bike incredibly ergonomic and comfortable. As the name suggests, the Pro model is for the serious rider who likes to train daily and at high intensity.

Things I liked:

  • Magnetic resistance system is silent and smooth
  • Stylish and compact design
  • Heavy flywheel for confident riding
  • Maximum users weight of 350lbs
  • Non-slip pedals are a great performance and safety feature

Things To Consider:

  • Limited 12-month warranty
  • The tech on the bike could be further improved in future models

Specs

  • Flywheel: 40lbs or 18kgs
  • Adjustable seat: 4 Way: Up/ down & Front/ back inseam height:
  • Adjustable handlebars: Two-way up and down adjustability
  • Resistance: Friction resistance system
  • Machine weight: 86lbs or 39kgs
  • Max user weight: 350lbs or 15kgs

Priced nearly $150 cheaper than the Pro model, the Yosuda YB007 still offers many of the same features as its Pro counterpart. The bike is very well built and comes with a hefty flywheel which is perfect for indoor cycling. The heavier the flywheel, the most robust and stable the riding experience.

The handlebars and seat are also fully adjustable, with the main difference in the resistance system used. Whereas the Pro model utilizes the latest magnetic technology, the YB007 has a “friction” style resistance system making the riding experience much louder and less smooth than the Pro model.

Overall, it’s a solid bike, and if you don’t mind the louder sound, then the YB007 is probably a better option than the Pro; don’t forget you can save almost $150.00.

Things I liked:

  • Friction resistance system
  • Adjustable handlebars
  • Two-way adjustable seat
  • Caged pedals proved confidence and safety
  • Simple yet elegant style

Things To Consider:

  • LCD screen is not the best and difficulty to see while riding
  • The warranty is rather lackluster

Yosuda YB001 Review, Specs & Features

YOSUDA Indoor Cycling Bike (YB001)
4.5

Priced at only $334.99 and some times lower on the official site, it is a great contender for shorter riders that are eager to purchase a spin bike as the minimum inseam requirement is 25 inches.

Specs

  • Flywheel: 40lbs or 18kgs
  • Adjustable seat: Up and down
  • Adjustable handlebars: Up and down adjustability
  • Resistance: Friction resistance system
  • Machine weight: 73lbs or 33kgs
  • Max user weight: 270lbs or 122kgs

The cheapest of the three bikes in the line-up, the YB001, is priced at $283.00, making it nearly half the price of the Pro model and $100 cheaper than the YB007.

The YB001 doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that its two counterparts do, such as 4-way adjustable seating and handlebars that can move up, back, forward, and down. If you’re on a budget and just starting out with indoor cycling, then the YB001 will be more than adequate to meet your needs.

The YB001 is a no-frills exercise bike that, although it doesn’t meet the high standards of the Pro and the YB007, still has high levels of build quality and is extremely affordable.

Things I liked:

  • An affordable alternative to the higher-priced bikes
  • Comfortable seat and adjustable handlebars
  • Solid flywheel weighing 40lbs
  • Friction resistance with unlimited levels of resistance
  • Durable, yet stylish indoor exercise bike

Things To Consider:

  • The 12-month warranty is less than ideal and doesn’t provide the customer with much confidence
  • New and unproven indoor cycling brand

Yosuda Pro, YB007 & YB001 Comparison: How Do They Compare?

When it comes to comparing the three bikes that have been designed by Yosuda, you might be forgiven for thinking they look exactly the same and there’s no difference, but guess what? There are a few notable distinctions between the three bikes.

Price

  • Yosuda Pro – $499.00
  • YB007 – $365.00

The magnetic resistance is notably smoother and quieter than the friction system, hence the higher price tag on the Yosuda Pro exercise bike model.

  • Yosuda Pro – Magnetic resistance system
  • YB007 – Friction resistance
  • YB001 – Friction resistance

Seat and Handlebar Adjustability

The last primary difference between the three bikes is the adjustability of the seat and handlebars. The seat and handlebars are 4-way adjustable on the Pro model, while the YB007 and the YB001 only offer 2-way adjustability.

  • Yosuda Pro – 4-way adjustability
  • YB007 – 4-way adjustability

The pedals are also “caged,” which helps with safety, especially when riding out of the saddle and pushing down hard on the pedals.

Yosuda Bikes Review

The Yosuda indoor exercises bikes are a mid-range and affordable alternative to the bigger, more expensive, and reputable brands. Does it live up to the same quality as bikes like Schwinn and Peloton? No, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take a serious look at the Yosuda brand.

Suppose you’re after all the fancy gadgets and latest tech, in that case, the Yosuda is not for you. However, if you’re on a limited budget and looking for a no-frills indoor stationary bike, give some thought to this new and exciting brand.
