1. Riding Experience & Performance

The riding experience is what the Boom Bike is all about. Freebeat has carefully designed this bike to give each rider a fantastic workout in their home. This 4.7 out of 5 star rated bike delivers according to reviewers when it comes to riding experience. One reviewer shared, “The quality is top-notch. I’m 6’6 and not a twig, so it’s important to me to feel comfortable and safe on any equipment. The Boom bike is just that! Being a big and tall guy, I felt like I could go all out in classes without breaking anything.”

The dynamic LED lights change color as you ride the Boom Bike to help enhance the riding experience. This feature allows you to bring the studio experience to your home.

2. Content & App Integration

Freebeat’s platform offers a gamified riding experience on both the Boom and Lit bikes. I loved the riding experience it provided on my Lit bike. Whether you prefer a guitar-hero-like game or want an instructor-led workout, Freebeat has you covered. The video-game-style graphics and bright colors help bring this platform to life, along with the available high-energy music.

The only application available for the Boom Bike is Freebeat’s. A $45 monthly subscription is required to access the over 500 on-demand classes and other platform features. Full functionality of the bike is only available with a subscription to the application. Currently, this application is only available when using the monitor and not for use on a smartphone.

3. Leaderboard

Although the classes are pre-recorded, you can still compete against other riders who are taking the class simultaneously. You can continue to climb the leaderboard by remaining on the beat consecutively during your workout. Climbing the leaderboard also allows you the opportunity to be entered to win great prizes from businesses such as Starbucks and Amazon.

4. Frame

To protect the frame from sweat, it is both ED and powder-coated. The Boom’s frame also contains lights attached to the bike‘s bottom. These lights give off a studio-style riding experience and add another level of fun to each workout.

5. Flywheel

The Boom bike has a flywheel weight of 15.4 pounds. Although the flywheel is in the front of the bike, it is not in the standard position but a little closer to the center due to the compact design of this cycle.

6. Belt Drive

A Beat V power transmission belt drive is used on all Freebeat bike models.

7. Resistance

The Boom bike features auto resistance. The auto resistance algorithm matches the perfect resistance with the rider’s fitness level. The resistance levels automatically adjust to follow the instructor’s cue during class.

8. Saddle

Unlike any other bikes currently on the market, the Boom bike includes Smart Saddle Detection+ technology. This means that the saddle automatically detects when the rider is in or out of the saddle.

Tip: I earned higher point values when riding out of the saddle when riding the Lit, which helped me climb the leaderboard faster.

9. Screen

The Boom bike features a 15.6” diagonal HD touchscreen that rotates.

10. Dimensions

The Boom bike dimensions are 51.5″ L × 51.5″ H × 24.7″ W. This bike has a smaller footprint, making it an excellent option for apartments, townhomes, or where workout space is limited.

11. Pedals

Only standard toe cage pedals are available with the Boom. Unfortunately, a SPD or Look Delta option is not available now.

12. Power Input

The Boom bike offers a Type-C power input.

Warranty, Financing & Customer Service

Freebeat offers a ten-year warranty for the frame, a twenty-four-month bike component warranty, and a twelve-month warranty for the HD touchscreen.

Through the help of Klarna, purchasers can enjoy 0% financing for up to twenty-four months or payment plans.

My experience with Freebeat’s Customer Service was that they were very responsive and answered any questions or issues I had promptly.
